Romney Shelton Collins
Romney Shelton Collins is a native of Burke, Virginia. She is a member of the Palm City Art Association as well as a resident of Martin County, FL and a current member of the Martin County Arts Council. She is fortunate to enjoy an historic home that she and her husband have restored in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. She credits courses in drawing at the College of Southern Maryland, in the early 1970’s, with spurring her interest in art.
Beginning in 1981, Romney began a two year study in oil with Robert and June Anderson, international artists, in Lewisburg, West Virginia The artist has also taken workshops with acclaimed painter, Daniel E. Greene. She has conducted six-week art classes through the Parks and Recreation Department.
The artist has been selected by the University of Charleston as one of West Virginia’s top one hundred woman painters, with work in permanent display at
the university. Her work is in private and public collections and is available at these galleries:
