Sharon Ferina
Sharon Ferina is originally from Long Island, NY. She first earned an associates degree in the Arts and Sciences from Suffolk Community College, Selden, NY. Returning to pursue her bachelor’s degree, she took a course in watercolor. She was so enamored of the medium that she decided to pursue painting full time. The Art League of Long Island further provided the opportunity to study under successful local artists including the prestigious and award winning Steve Lampasona of Manhattan.

She has studied under several local Florida artists, Marianne La Mura, Sally Browning Pearson and Dan Mallardi and also participated in workshops offered by Norma De Santis and Sandie Simpson. Attending classes at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, she studied under Philip Steel. In Ravello, Italy, she worked with Leo Kennedy, a celebrated landscape artist.

Sharon retired from the travel industry and relocated to Jensen Beach, Florida in 2002. She has traveled extensively and her work reflects the flavor of various landscapes and lifestyles of France and Italy as well as the Napa Valley, Oregon Coast and scenic Washington State. Sharon has a love of birds and flowers and often includes grapes in her paintings. Her scenes from the Treasure Coast capture the beauty of the wildlife, beaches and preserves.

Sharon volunteers her assistance to the annual Hibiscus Art Auction fund raiser as a member of the Art Acquisition committee. One of her paintings was chosen by the Hibiscus Guild to be marketed as a Holiday Card fund raiser for Christmas 2006. Sharon is currently second Vice-President and co-chair of programs for the Art Associates of Martin County. She is a member of the Arts Council of Stuart and Martin County and a member of the Jensen Beach Art League.

Sharon’s work is on display on ‘Second Sundays’ at the Elliott Museum outdoor Art Sale. Additionally, her work can be seen at Marsh Rabbit Gallery and Zafka Studios in Jensen Beach.
